Winterfest in Pigeon Forge, TN is a special annual event that gets bigger and better each year with millions of Christmas lights, numerous displays, events, and more that draw visitors to the area throughout the winter season. The 2013 Pigeon Forge Winterfest features five million Christmas lights and will take place November 12 – February 28. Winterfest Kickoff and Christmas Lights
The official kickoff for the Pigeon Forge Winterfest is set for Nov 12 with festivities taking place at Patriot Park after the conclusion of the annual Veteran’s Parade. The annual lighting of the Christmas lights and displays takes place at Patriot Park.
Winterfest Trolley Tour of Lights
One of the best ways to see all of the light displays during the Pigeon Forge Winterfest is to hop on the Winterfest Trolley Tour of Lights. The trollies are heated and enclosed with large windows for fantastic viewing. Each trolley has a knowledgable tour guide that shares info about the history of Pigeon Forge and the various light Winterfest lights.
The Winterfest Trolley Tours depart each night at 6:30 P.M., 7:45 P.M. and 9:00 P.M. with a price of $5 per person. Tours will switch to a limited schedule the first two weeks of January on Mondays and Fridays. There is a minimum of 15 passengers for Trolley Tours to depart.
Individual tickets can be purchased the day of the tour. If you plan to bring more than 10 people, then reservations must be made by calling 865-453-6444.
One of the most popular things to do during Winterfest is to visit Dollywood for their annual Smoky Mountain Christmas festival which features special activities and shows such as the Carol of the Trees, Parade of Lights, Dollywood’s A Christmas Carol, and more. Dollywood transforms into an incredible display of Christmas lights during their Smoky Mountain Christmas Festival and is definitely a great way to enjoy Winterfest in Pigeon Forge.
