TWO Pirate Dinner Shows Coming to Pigeon Forge in 2019!
A massive cannon blast of news fired over Pigeon Forge today with the announcement of not one, but TWO pirate themed dinner shows coming to Pigeon Forge in 2019! We couldn’t be more excited about this, because one of the biggest questions we constantly receive is “are there any new shows in Pigeon Forge?” Now we can happily say, “YES!” How ironic that there will be two completely different pirate shows in town battling it out for attention. All of the known details are revealed below along with the one we chose as the winner in their first battle of press releases!
Pirate’s Revenge Dinner & Show
First up, is Pirate’s Revenge Dinner & Show announced by the creative minds behind the Hatfield McCoy Dinner Feud, Smoky Mountain Opry, Comedy Barn, and more. For decades, these shows have featured some of the most popular family-friendly entertainment in the Smokies and each of their shows and theaters seem to get bigger and better each time.
The Smoky Mountain Opry theater will undergo a $20 million transformation with an exterior featuring a moat, drawbridge, special effects, and more. It is the first theater that visitors pass when entering Pigeon Forge, and the new design is sure to capture attention!
On the inside, the renovated theater will feature the largest retractable water stage in the Southeast with brand new technology that will feature moving ships! The show will include actors, stunt divers, acrobats, singers, dancers and live animals.
“We’ve enlisted the help of the best technological experts in the world to help with innovative thematic and production elements,” said David Fee, president and chief executive officer of Fee/Hedrick Family Entertainment Group. “Our writing team has worked on projects for Broadway shows as well as Disney and Universal productions. This show will be like no other in existence.”
We simply cannot wait to see this new building and show!
As for the Smoky Mountain Opry, the company hopes to keep it and move it to a different location.

Pirate’s Voyage Dinner & Show
Dolly Parton has announced the Pirates Voyage Dinner and Show slated to open Spring 2019. This show has been popular in Myrtle Beach for years and has long been rumored to make an appearance in Pigeon Forge. We aren’t sure if it will be the exact same show as the one featured in Myrtle Beach, but the press release describes it as:
“When complete, the 21,000 square foot arena, adjacent to The Island in Pigeon Forge, will be the stage for Crimson and Sapphire pirates to battle on deck, in the water and in the sky above their full-sized pirate ships in a 15-foot-deep indoor lagoon. Spectacular acrobatic competitions, live animals and an original music score by Dolly Parton and Mark Brymer creates an immersive adventure experience all while guests enjoy a spectacular five-course pirate feast.”
While they have not confirmed, it appears that this will replace the current “Celebration!” theater based on the artist rendering of the stage.
