When does Dollywood Open in 2023?

Dollywood’s opening day for the 2023 season will be March 11th from 10 am – 8 pm. While their opening day hardly ever changes once announced, we still always recommend checking with Dollywood before you make your vacation plans and reservations just in case!

What is new at Dollywood in 2023?

Dollywood is opening their single largest investment in an attraction in 2023 with Big Bear Mountain. This exciting new roller coaster will be located in Wildwood Grove. Here is what Dollywood says about this new ride on their website:

“Dollywood’s largest ever park expansion, Wildwood Grove, is getting even bigger! Debuting in the spring of 2023, Big Bear Mountain will be the longest coaster at Dollywood, taking guests of all ages on an unforgettable family-friendly expedition in search of the Big Bear. Circling Wildwood Grove for nearly two minutes on 3,990 ft. of track, this gigantic coaster is a first of its kind at Dollywood with onboard audio, including music and announcements from Ned Oakley himself.”

Festivals at Dollywood in 2023

A special event called the “I Will Always Love You Celebration” is scheduled to take place March 11th – April 8th. Dollywood’s website says this event is to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the release of Dolly’s popular hit, “I Will Always Love You”. They say the event will also recognize a number of noted and up-and-coming singers/songwriters with performances throughout the park.

The Flower & Food Festival returns on April 21st – June 11th featuring multiple, all-new iconic Mosaiculture displays and a fresh menu full of all-new delectable delicacies.

The Smoky Mountain Summer Celebration kicks off June 17th – August 6th with a larger nightly drone and fireworks show, and the return of the guest-favorite Gazillion Bubble Show Aurora!

The Harvest Festival will take place September 22nd – November 4th featuring the popular Hoot Owl Hollow glowing display, Great Pumpkin LumiNights, delicious food, and more.

The award-winning Smoky Mountain Christmas at Dollywood takes place November 11th – January 6th with 6 million twinkling lights, shows for the whole family, seasonal treats for all tastes, and more.
