When the weather gets warm in the Smokies, nothing hits the spot like some ice cream in Pigeon Forge! Our Smoky Mountain city is filled with a number of superb creameries and shops where you can enjoy everyone’s favorite vacation treat. To help you make the most of your next getaway, we have put together a guide to finding the best ice cream in Pigeon Forge.
1. The Island Creamery
Conveniently located at The Island in Pigeon Forge, The Island Creamery is a wonderful place to grab a snack during a shopping trip. All of the ice cream at this parlor is freshly made in-house. Popular flavors at The Island Creamery include Banana Pudding, Fruity Pebbles, Butterscotch Brownie, and Rocky Road. The portions are very generous at The Island Creamery, so a single scoop in a waffle cone usually does the trick for most adults.
2. The Old Mill Creamery
The Old Mill Creamery is a classic after-dinner destination in Pigeon Forge! Located in The Old Mill Square, this popular ice cream parlor is the perfect place to get a cone, shake, sundae, float, or malt. Many of the Creamery’s signature ice cream flavors use ingredients from neighboring shops in the square, such as Salted Caramel (made with caramel from The Old Mill Candy Kitchen), Whiskey Ribbon (made with moonshine from The Old Forge Distillery), and Oat Mill Cream Pie (made with rolled oats from The Old Mill).
3. Curl de la Creme
Curl de la Creme is one of the places to find the best ice cream in Pigeon Forge. This one-of-a-kind store serves “curled ice cream”, a special dessert that is made by pouring cream onto a below freezing stainless steel plate, spreading it into a thin sheet, and rolling it up. Curl de la Creme currently offers two base flavors (vanilla or chocolate), 13 mix-ins, and around 20 different toppings. Half the fun of visiting Curl de la Creme is seeing the liquid cream turn into ice cream right before your eyes! Check out the video below to get a sneak peek of the process:
