While Pigeon Forge is already a world-class shopping destination, things are getting more exciting as the Mountain Mile & Tower Shops continues to grow! This multi-purpose retail and family entertainment development is becoming one of the most popular places to visit in the Smoky Mountains! Here is everything that we know so far about this complex for fun and shopping in Pigeon Forge:
1. About the Mountain Mile & Tower Shops
For those who have been coming to Pigeon Forge for many years, you might remember the Belz Outlet Mall that was located behind The Island in Pigeon Forge. While that mall has closed, new life is being breathed into the property with a major redevelopment project called The Mountain Mile & Tower Shops! The project includes 180,000 square feet of open-air shopping, as well as a tower ride called the Mountain Monster that is the centerpiece of the mall. Some shops have already opened at the complex and have drawn in visitors from all across the country.
One of the shops that is already open is Junction 35 Spirits, a distillery that offers both a retail and tasting area, and a full-service restaurant! It’s unlike any other Smoky Mountain distillery. Other shops open at the Tower Shops include The Coffee Armory, REI, Cream & Sugar Sweet Shoppe, Cinnaholic and more. The Tower Shops continue to grow, offering a fun shopping experience for everyone. Whether you’re looking for clothing, outdoor gear, or something to satisfy your sweet tooth, you can find it here.
2. What to Expect
The Mountain Mile & Tower Shops are reshaping the retail, restaurant, and attraction scene of Pigeon Forge! This major shopping destination offers plenty of new shops for visitors to explore! The complex is located along Teaster Lane and Jake Thomas Boulevard in the heart of Pigeon Forge. Moreover, it is surrounded by the Cal Ripken Experience baseball tournament park and the LeConte Center.
3. About the Mountain Monster
The Mountain Monster is a 200 foot tower that provides visitors with 3 thrill rides and gives riders an unbelievable panoramic view of Pigeon Forge and the Smoky Mountains! The ride is designed and built by Stan Checketts, a nationally renowned attractions inventor who has created ride concepts all over the world! In fact, one of his attractions is just down the street at Dollywood and is called the Barnstormer. Checketts has noted that he is particularly excited about the Mountain Monster due to the unique combination of incredible views and a vibrant market of family entertainment.

I only wish the buildings didn’t look so modern…they look like they could be in any city in the United States…quaint, cottage type architecture would be so great for Pigeon Forge
